THE HOUSE CONCERT Incredibly Intimate, Wonderfully Magical |
| For those of you who enjoy entertaining friends and throwing parties in your home, here's an opportunity to try something new - something unique. While it's great to hear a classical guitar concert in a good concert hall, the beauty and sensitivity of the instrument is far better appreciated in a smaller, more intimate setting. You can experience that - by having a private concert - right in your own home. Imagine, you and your guests gathered in your living room, experiencing an evening of wonderful music and conversation. Everyone has a front-row seat as I play and speak about the guitar, the music, and the meaning it has for us all. I promise you not just a great concert, but an evening that will become a cherished memory for you and your guests. It's called a House Concert (or Hauskonzert) and it isn't at all difficult to organize. In fact, it's very easy and my fee is very reasonable. There are just a few guidelines: 1. You must be willing to promote the concert to your friends, family, and acquaintances. Ideally you will want to bring 20-30 people into your home, although you are welcome to invite fewer or more. 2. I must be able to sell my merchandise (CDs, books, DVD) after the concert. 3. My travel expenses must be covered (see below). Travel expenses are in addition to the fee. My Fee: The fee is only $300-$500. Ideas: 1. Some hosts ask a $10/person donation from attendees to help pay the fee. 2. Also, you can ask a local business or business person to help sponsor or even cover my fee and travel expenses for the event. In exchange, you can print their business information on a program plus I will be happy to give them a public acknowledgment/word of appreciation at the concert. Travel Expenses: In addition to my basic fee, travel expenses need to be taken into consideration. I live in Kansas City. Because of my central location, I am able to keep expenses fairly low. I will go pretty much anywhere within the U.S. to play a concert so long as my basic expenses (gasoline or airline, car rental and accommodations) are covered. When you contact me, just let me know where you're located and I can give you a general price range of what to expect. If you don't think you can afford all this, contact me anyway. Most of the time, I can book three or four concerts in an area at once. If this is the case in your situation, it will cut the travel costs down quite a bit because I can split the costs between the various concerts. When we talk, we can discuss the possibilities. Think you want to give it a try? Your own private concert in your own home? A memorable evening filled with wonderful music and friends? Let's talk. To get started, contact me. |
